I see you've put points into both str and dex so you should be able to try out a great deal of the weapons you found.
If you prefer heavier hitting weapons maybe try out the Zweihander or the Claymore easy to find in the graveyard near firelink and on the bridge before the dragon, respectively and pump strength, or if you want a quicker, lighter weapon maybe the Estoc found near the start of New Londo Ruins and pump dex. I've got 2 Dragon Scales, which I haven't used for this sword, as I read it's not recommended. The Drake Sword is not recommended in the long run because its damage does not scale with any stats; this means that while it does an awesome damage in the early game, that's not much compared to the damage you can do with high stats and a weapon with good stat scaling.
I personally moved on to Astora's Straight Sword , as recommended by the Wiki; you can find it in The Valley of Drakes, guarded by an undead dragon hanging off the edge of a cliff. To strike the wyvern's tail, players will need a bow and arrow, which can be acquired by choosing the Hunter class, purchasing from the Undead Merchant in Undead Burg, or sourced as a loot-drop from certain Hollows in the surrounding area.
At minimum stats, it takes 28 shots using regular wooden arrows or 13 Big Arrows with a Regular Short Bow using regular wooden arrows to remove the wyvern's tail. Although doesn't sound too bad in theory, each time the player successfully hits, the wyvern descends onto the bridge and takes a few moments to get back into its original position. This turns the whole exercise into a waiting game, but it's ultimately worth it. The Drake Sword is an invaluable resource during the initial few areas of Dark Souls.
