Be sure to check the road conditions before you go, because some roads may be closed in winter due to weather conditions. On the southern side of Lake Tahoe, the main landmark is South Lake Tahoe, the most touristy town in the area. Can you swim in Lake Tahoe? If that is too cold for you, stay out of the water.
